Basketball Hall of Fame Founding Partners Program

“A Virtual Tour”

Wins Gold Cindy Award

East Longmeadow, MA – A Gold Cindy has been awarded to Veritech Corporation for the 3D animated program they created for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.  The program creators were; Marty Langford, Writer/Producer, Warren Amerman, Interactive Designer and Christian Haley, 3D animator.  A Gold Cindy is the highest award granted by the prestigious International Association of Audio Visual Communicators based in Ocotillo, California.

The program was created as a fund raising tool and was used by the Basketball Hall of Fame to solicit contributions for the new Hall being built in Springfield, Massachusetts.  The CD-ROM program included a 3-minute virtual fly-through of the planned facility and was created using existing sketches, renderings, elevations and blueprints.  A complete wire-frame model of the entire hall was modeled, textured, lit and rendered out using high-end (LightWave) 3D software.  In addition, each gallery and venue was broken down into individual mini-tours that featured more detail about each gallery, including 360 degree panoramas, more detailed animation and

interactive program samples. Potential contributors were given “naming opportunities” and asked to sponsor different galleries and locations throughout the Hall.

Mr. Mike Brooslin, Curator of the Hall of Fame, commented that, “The program was an instrumental component of the Hall of Fame’s fund raising efforts and enabled sponsors to visualize the museums exhibits and features prior to their physical construction.”

The Gold Cindy is the 21st Cindy Award granted to Veritech in the past twelve years and the second Cindy they have received for programs created for the Basketball Hall of Fame.  In 1990 they received a Silver Cindy for the Honors Court, a kiosk-based, interactive program highlighting all the Basketball Hall of Fame honorees.
